As someone who's always been passionate about technology, my journey as an IT Consultant at Sapientics, part of the Consortix Group, has been nothing short of thrilling. I've learned, grown, and had fun in ways I hadn't imagined when I embarked on this path.
On the professional front, my experience has been a steep learning curve. I've delved deep into SQL, Linux, and file management, honing my technical skills to a fine edge. But it wasn't just the tech side of things that kept me engaged.
I found myself gaining valuable insights into the testing process, both writing and executing test cases, which was a whole new world for me. The satisfaction of seeing a piece of software function flawlessly after rigorous testing is something I can't put into words.
One of the highlights of my time here has been actively participating in the development of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) system for a Serbian subsidiary of a Bank Group. It was an exhilarating experience, and the fact that I was trusted to provide on-site support speaks volumes about the faith the company had in my abilities. Furthermore, being involved with the Albanian and Croatian AML and Watch List Management projects kept me on my toes, constantly learning and growing.
Away from the professional sphere, I found ample opportunities to pursue my passions. I started my own Dungeons and Dragons team, bringing together like-minded enthusiasts for some fun and strategy. I also brought my love for plant care to the office, creating a little green oasis amidst the tech.
The in-house Sports Challenge became a vital part of my routine, pushing me to stay active and healthy while fostering a sense of camaraderie among us participants. And let's not forget the after-lunch FIFA championships - those were some heated contests!
The last few months have been a whirlwind of activity, and I've loved every minute of it. From team-building events to company-wide gatherings, I've had the chance to connect with my colleagues on a personal level, making work more enjoyable.
One of the best aspects of working at Sapientics has been the openness of my managers. They've always been receptive to new ideas and quick to provide positive feedback, fostering an environment of mutual respect and collaboration.
As for the future, I'm excited about the prospect of moving toward a developer role, dive deeper into business analysis, and exploring different facets of the IT world. I'm grateful for the opportunity to discuss these plans with my managers, who have been nothing but supportive. In the meantime, I look forward to continuing my work updating the other subsidiaries.
At the end of the day, what I expect from the company is the chance to grow and develop, and I'm happy to say that Sapientics has delivered on that front. I've also been given the chance to specialize in various areas, further broadening my professional horizon.
